In this entry I would like to pay tribute to my mentors with Vitamark International, Mike & Tiffany Potillo.

Mike & Tiffany Potillo are an amazing couple and a force to be reckoned with in the network marketing industry. Here they tell us how they've managed to build their thriving Vitamark business and what success really means to them.

Getting A Startby Tiffany and Mike Potillo

September 1998. It was a typical weekday night for a twenty-year-old college student. I’d just gotten back from a great evening at the fraternity house around midnight and had to cram for a crucial exam the next morning. So, I broke out the books—and, of course, turned on the TV. After flipping through the channels, I landed on some infomercial about real estate. I left the channel there to provide background noise as I studied, then I opened the books and started reading.

You know, it’s amazing how you can read twenty pages of something and then not remember a thing you just read! After half an hour, my mind started wandering. I was glancing back and forth from the book to the TV and getting absolutely nothing done. Then fear kicked in: “I am a junior in College, I have a 3.8 GPA in my major and I simply don’t know what I want to do with my life!”

Suddenly, on the infomercial, I heard the most hillbilly country voice I have ever heard say: “A formal education will make you a living, a self education will make you a fortune!”

I immediately looked up to see who was talking. For the next twenty minutes I watched in amazement, hearing things like: Travel the world; Wake up when you choose to; If you help enough other people get what they want you will get what you want; Life is based on how many relationships you develop; your business will never grow larger than you do; Our business is in the leadership development business!

I was hooked! This hillbilly was standing on a beach in Hawaii talking about earning millions of dollars. I had never heard anything like that before. But how did he do it? What did this guy have that I didn’t? At the end of the show, it said call for more information on this business and ‘our new revolutionary diet product.’ Then it hit me! They are getting rich offering a product people want…because of course everyone wants to lose weight.

I picked up the phone and called. Of course, I got a recorded message that tried to get me fired up about leaving my information. What they didn’t realize is that I was already fired up because I had just had a life-altering experience. I had never heard people talk about the things he did. I thought only doctors and rich people could do things like he was talking about, but he said I could live that kind of life, too.

Lessons Learned

The next few years were amazing. I learned from the best of the best on how to program myself the right way. To be successful, you have to start by getting yourself right, first. You also have to attend events. My first sponsors in network marketing, Jim and Diana McDougal (who have now joined Vitamark) always told me that success revolves around events, and they were right.

In January 1999, Jim called and said, “Pack your bags, we are going to Birmingham, Alabama for the National Conference.” I told him I couldn’t go because that weekend was my twenty-first birthday and my fraternity brothers were throwing me a big bash. Jim laughed. “Wow,” he said. “I was wrong about you. I thought you wanted to be rich!” Needless to say, I spent the weekend in Birmingham for the National Conference and I celebrated my twenty-first birthday with 5,000 of my newest friends.

I learned right then that attending events can change the direction of your business —overnight! I have never missed a company event in my eight years of network marketing, and I NEVER WILL. Everyone in Vitamark who earns six figures attends all the events. It’s that simple. If that’s what you want, be there.

Making Exposures

Over the last eight years, I have had my ups and downs. I went broke twice before I was twenty-five years old. But I knew that network marketing was the answer to my goals simply because I knew it boiled down to making ‘exposures.’

Tiffany and I love the Appetizer Diet Cookies and exposures have never been easier to make. Just hand someone a Diet Cookie and ask if they like it or not. The bottom line is, whoever hands out the most Diet Cookies wins. We are on a mission to share a diet cookie with 1,000,000 people world wide in the next two years, and I believe that with the unified focus of Vitamark ’s leaders we will get the job done.

The Right Company

We looked for nine months and after evaluating fifty-seven different companies we knew that Vitamark was our networking home for life. People would be crazy not to see what we have here. It’s the best network marketing company in the world. Period.

Where else can you go and build a team of twenty-five people and earn $500? Or a team of less than five hundred people and earn over $10,000 a month? Let me answer that for you: nowhere but Vitamark International. The culture we’re creating with this company has never been accomplished in the history of network marketing. I believe Vitamark is a special company and will touch more lives in many different ways than any of us can possibly fathom. The products, leadership, comp plan and business philosophy can’t be touched.

We have found a home for life and we know the future is brighter than ever. Because of Vitamark we have built a beautiful new home, bought new cars and traveled to Amsterdam, the Bahamas, Italy, London, Germany, and Austria….all in just a year and a half! And get this: we are only 28 and 25 years old. Anybody and everybody can have success with Vitamark , if they want to. I can’t even think about how many places we will get to experience because of this awesome company.

A Bright Future

The future looks amazing. Our team has pulled together around the Diet Cookie and amazing things are happening for people. People are breaking new pin levels and their checks continue to go UP, UP, UP!

We have many team members who have been with us for years and others who have just joined us in Vitamark . What I have seen is that no matter what your background, you can have success with our company.

I have seen people rise to the occasion and hit goals they have been wanting to achieve for years because of the support they have in Vitamark . The support from all the teams is unprecedented in network marketing. No matter what team we are on, we know we always have the support from other leadership as well as the company as a whole.
